Welcome to Eagles (Year 5 & Year 6)

Welcome to our classroom! We are a vibrant and friendly group made up of 23 Year 6 children and 14 Year 5 children, who learn and grow together every day. Our classroom is a place where learning is truly valued, curiosity is encouraged, and everyone is supported to be the best they can be. We believe in seeking opportunities to be challenged and in supporting one another so that every child can feel successful and proud of their achievements.

 

Across the curriculum, we love to explore big ideas and creative thinking. In art, we study a range of artists and their practices, experimenting with printmaking, painting and drawing to express our own ideas and develop new skills. Through history, we look closely at the past and consider how it has shaped the present, helping us to better understand the world we live in today.

 

Our learning also takes us beyond the classroom as we explore both physical and human geography, discovering how the world has changed over time and how these changes impact Britain and the wider world. Reading plays a central role in our classroom life and is highly valued and encouraged every day. We are inspired by the words of Toni Morrison: “If there’s a book that you want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” This quote reminds us to be thoughtful, creative and brave learners—ready to read widely, think deeply and share our own voices with the world.
