Owls - Y4 & Y5
Welcome to Owls (Year 4 & Year 5)
Mrs Simpson is our teacher.
Mrs Jones and Mr Briggs are our teaching assistants.
This term has gotten off to a ROARING start with our special DINOSAUR experience day! The children had an amazing time meeting Zeus, the cheeky 17ft T-Rex, and the baby dinosaurs, too!
The children then wrote their own dinosaur adventure using a range of sentence openers, thinking about ways to build tension and suspense in their writing!
Our Spring Term whole school topic is Water World! We have been learning about water in our geography, focusing on rivers and the water cycle. We have linked this to our learning on changing states in Science! Throughout this topic, Owls class have created some beautiful art work, here are a selection of our water themed art projects during lockdown 3.0!
The Great Wave by Katsushika Hokusai
We have been inspired by the work of Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. Take at a look at our beautiful work created during home learning!
Our whole school topic for Autumn term in Home Sweet Home!
In Owls class we have been using maps, atlases and google earth to explore our local area, including cities, counties, countries and regions of the UK.
The Terrible Tudors!
This term, Owls class have loved learning all about the Terrible Tudors!
We have been delving into one of Britain's most notorious dynasties, learning all about King Henry VIII and his impact on British History (and his desperate need for an heir to the throne!)
There are lots of games and videos to watch on BBC Horrible Histories page at the link below
Owls class have been working hard creating their own Tudor Portraits thinking about tone, shading and hue...
