PE and Sport Premium

PE at Kirkland and Catterall

At Kirkland and Catterall Church of England Primary School our main priority is to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles for all our children. We aim to inspire an active school of children who enjoy PE, encourage each other and achieve their full potential. We offer our pupils a wide range of stimulating and exciting opportunities to ensure that all children progress physically through a creative, stimulating and fully inclusive curriculum. We endeavor to give our children the skills and knowledge required to make a positive impact on their own physical and mental health and well-being.

The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport - is allocated to primary school head teachers.

This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

The PE and sports premium is funding in addition to the school’s budget. Schools are free to decide how to allocate this funding to impact on all aspects of sports within school.

Please click on the links below to see how our school is making use of the funding.
