Welcome to Kirkland & Catterall
"An Excellent Church of England Primary School"
SIAMS inspection report, Nov 2018
A Christian family who encourage and equip one another to soar...
Thank you for visiting our school website. I hope that you will find the information on this site useful. Kirkland & Catterall St. Helen's is a Church of England school. We benefit from close proximity to the historic market town of Garstang, where together with Catterall, the farms of Kirkland and the village of Churchtown, most of our children are drawn. We currently have 145 children, aged 4 to 11 on roll.
An extremely positive ethos and happy atmosphere permeates our school and we enjoy a close relationship with the local community including the 12th Century Parish Church of St. Helen's, Churchtown. Our children are brimming with enthusiasm and are hungry to learn, they are well-motivated, positive, caring and responsive, reflecting our strong Christian values and ethos. The school has very high standards and aspirations for each and every one of our children and we aim to be a school to which staff and children are proud to belong, which parents are pleased to support and where everyone feels valued and fulfilled.
If you are thinking of visiting us, I would be delighted to show you around - please get in touch using one of the contacts provided. To all our existing parents - we look forward to seeing you at our forthcoming events and thank you for your continued support.

Our whole-school topic for summer term 2019 is:
Just one of the themes from our creative curriculum...
Be amazed as you walk through our school library area and notice Owls' fantastic pirate ships! They were set the challenge of being as creative as they like for a homework project and we have all been blown away with their talents.
Gotta Dance 2019
Mrs Prest and Mrs Simpson were so proud to take 29 children to Preston to perform in Gotta Dance 2019. The children's behaviour was impeccable during rehearsals and their perfomance was fantastic. There were lots of lovely smiley faces. Well done everyone.
World Book Day 2019
Well done everyone, what fabulous fairytale outfits!
Congratulations, school council for organising a wonderful book swap.
We all had a wonderful day in the snow. Well done to Mrs Wood and the resourceful snowman building team who, somehow, managed to salvage enough snow at lunchtime to build this small but beautifully formed snowman. Thank you also to all the KS2 boys and girls who pelted me with snowballs at morning break - my ears are still full of snow as I type! Fingers crossed for more snow next week. ~ Mr Scholz
